Letz FIFA with Holland

The Holland Alumni Network cosponsored the event along with the Netherlands Business Support Office, Norit (a leading Dutch water treatment multinational) and the Indo Dutch Business Circle. The event was a reunion for the Alumni carrying them back to their student days in the Netherlands.
It's orange all the way to support the Netherlands national team. In the semi final one could see,the involvement of the fans. Football fans cheered in Madrid as Spain set up a World Cup final showdown with the Netherlands at Soccer City on Sunday. Spain and Netherlands have been competing in the World Cup since 1934 but have never met which only adds to the intrigue ahead of a final. In the wake of the opportune moment of Holland poised to win the World Cup 2010 Finals, we at the Holland Alumni Network India feel that this is the time to show solidarity with the country.
It was hardly a spectacle to behold and failed to embody what some of us call “the beautiful game”, but it was a finale to the World Cup nonetheless and happily served up talking points. The resounding feeling from football fans worldwide must be a sense of loss, regardless of the final outcome. But for many it was the night to remember and to relive their passion for the game.
