Dutch Architect puts Binsar on a Global platform

The Binsar sanctuary in Uttarakhand is not strange to wildlife enthusiasts. However, for lesser mortals who have little kinship with animals the place had almost fallen off the map. Till a modest cartographic intervention helped it find place in the list of the worlds’ most innovative eco-tourism spots 2011 published by The Guardian newspaper.

Dutch Architect puts Binsar on a Global platform

Anne has established Arch i, a trust that works as a platform to promote respect for culture & community participation.

The Binsar map is the outcome of months of hard work by the Arch i team. The team has espoused the cause of promoting unheard of or unfamiliar locales.
The maps prepared by the team are different in the sense that the maps are not replete with longitudinal and latitudinal lines, instead they pictorially illustrate stories related to the locations by representing the lifestyle and elements of the people residing there, these make the maps awesome in their impact while at the same time making them tempting sources of information to lure visitors.

This wouldn’t have been possible without Dutch Architect Anne Feenstra who headed the team.

Feenstra says "A good map can start a dialogue that can uncover a lot that remains concealed".
