The Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window Lot 13

University van Amsterdam has initiated the EMECW13 in specific programmes of the UvA for Indian students.

EMECW13 facilitates academic interaction between Europe and India and gives researchers, students and staff the opportunity to attend one of the partner universities via a scholarship covering their expenses. This project will make 183 scholarships available to either study or conduct research at a major European or Indian centre of learning.

The project aims at better understanding between the EU and India, as well as mutual enrichment. The scheme features 12 European universities, including the University of Amsterdam, and 8 universities in India. The coordinating institution for EMECW13 is Lund University (Sweden).

The objectives include a mission to create a partnership for research and development that will strengthen ties between India and the EU. Topics that will be included in the education and research collaboration are agriculture, food processing, climate change, energy, environment, ICT, biotechnology and nanotechnology.
