Finance & Operations Officer (based in Bengaluru)

For Nuffic’s Netherlands Education Support office (NESO) in India we have an opening for a Finance & Operations Officer.

Nuffic is the Netherlands organisation for internationalisation in education. We are an independent, non-profit organisation based in The Hague, the Netherlands. We support the internationalisation of Dutch education and research and help improve access to education worldwide. Nuffic Neso India is an overseas office of Nuffic and part of a worldwide network of Netherlands Education Support Offices that operates in locations of strategic importance for Dutch higher education.

Nuffic-Neso India (Bangalore)

Nuffic-Neso India (NNI) promotes Dutch higher education in India while at the same time giving Dutch education institutions insight into the Indian student market. NNI also provide support by facilitating institutional cooperation. In addition, Nuffic Neso India provides generic information on possible study programs and internship places for Dutch students and institutions in India. Moreover, Nuffic Neso India strengthens the ties of Indian alumni with the Netherlands, thereby creating a global community of ambassadors for the Netherlands. In addition to these activities, Nuffic Neso India develops tailor made services on the request of Dutch education institutions as well as business. The office is in The Netherlands Consulate in Bangalore wherein Nuffic Neso India closely collaborates with each department.

The main activities of NESO are:

  • Generic promotion of study and career in the Netherlands (both off-line and on-line)
  • Student counseling for Indian students
  • Alumni activities, with students who have returned to India
  • Market research
  • Support of incoming mobility to India and providing information to outgoing students
  • Develop tailor made activities on specific request of stakeholders

What will you be doing?

The Finance & Operations Officer will have the following tasks:

  • Provide support in the P&C cycle (planning, budgeting, financial analysis, reporting, key performance indicators)
  • Daily financial management incl. bookkeeping, inventory list and payment procedures
  • Office management incl. ICT, HR, archiving and procurement of goods/services
  • Robust database of vendors and vendor management
  • Ability to negotiate and get the best quotes from vendor
  • General administrative support to the Neso Chief Representative Officer
  • Provide and supplement financial records to head-office as and when needed

 

You will report directly to NESO’s Chief Representative Officer, India for activities and results and you will work closely with colleagues in the Netherlands.

Your qualifications

You are a responsible and well-organized professional and you fulfil the following job requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Sound financial management and accounting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written command of English
  • Good people skills, well-organised and culturally sensitive
  • Sound computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Able to deliver under pressure and deadlines and works with a sense of urgency
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in the Organization
  • Available for travel
